What do you love about the US Open?

The drama and narrative: The US open and sports in general, produce storylines that are as compelling as any fiction. Underdogs triumphing, seasoned professionals facing off against newcomers—these are narratives that add depth to the competition.

What is your favorite thing about NYC?

The Energy: The city has a pulse, a constant sense of movement and activity that's hard to find elsewhere. Like a tennis ball in well balanced match, the city embodies perpetual motion. This kinetic energy often serves as an inspiration for both New Yorkers and visitors alike. And just like a tennis match NYC is full of surprises - whether it's a talented street performer, a random act of kindness, or a flash mob, these unexpected moments add a layer of excitement and unpredictability to the city's energy.

What is your best memory from 2020?

During 2020, I still had to go to the studio to shoot video and to stay safe I would bring lunches to eat on the roof. One day when it was raining, I used a c stand (century stand), a sand bag and a large umbrella to create a temporary shelter. I enjoyed a can of salmon and beans that day. I felt very resilient and at peace.

What do you love about the US Open?

My favorite part of the US Open experience is how NEW YORK it feels - how the athletes roll in, the culture of the city ingests the event, and the best of our milieu shines. Time seems to stop in the city as the tournament nears the finals, and as we enjoy our end of summer rituals, the Open is a continual background element and color highlighting our dog days.

What is your favorite thing about NYC?

Come on - where to begin! One example - that feeling of a hot summery evening, everyone sweaty and feeling the heavy air doming the sky and their brows, only to step into some elegant dining establishment with friends, enjoying an icy cocktail and feeling like you are living in the middle of the entire universe. That IS New York to me.

What is your best memory from 2020?

Performing in front of loved ones in a private concert when the world dissolved around us.
